Nie żyje Keith Hufnagel

Kilkanaście godzin temu na oficjalnym instagramie brandu HUF ogłoszono smutne wieści. Po 2,5 roku zmagań z nowotworem mózgu odszedł Keith Hufnagel.

Keith był założycielem HUF (tak taż na niego wołano), pionierem deskorolki i ikoną sceny San Francisco. Przez lata wpisał się w historię deskorolki na zawsze. Od prowadzenia skateshopu, przez promodele desek w REAL Skateaboards, aż po HUF Footwear czy Apparel. Chociaż nie znaliśmy Keith’a osobiście to wygląda na to, że miał dobre życie. Niestety 2020 rok po raz kolejny udowadnia, że nie jesteśmy niezniszczalni.

Przyjaciele i znane osobistości wspominają Keith’a w postach na instagramie, poniżej zamieszczam kilka najbardziej wzruszających. Ja wszystkich zainteresowanych odsyłam do mega inspirującego i ciekawego wywiadu z HUF’em dla Jenkem Magazine.

We are absolutely heartbroken to deliver the news today that HUF founder Keith Hufnagel has passed away. Keith battled brain cancer for the past 2.5 years. And though he beat the odds and fought back much longer than his diagnosis permitted, he ultimately and unfortunately lost the fight. Keith was not only the ‘HUF’nagel in HUF. He was the heart and soul of this brand. He built and brought together a community of people like no one else could. Keith paved the way for all of us – as a respected professional skateboarder, shop owner, brand founder, footwear and apparel designer, creative director, and industry leader. He showed us how to do it, and how do it right. Keith loved skateboarding and the culture around it. He did things his way and did them for the right reasons. He inspired so many of us across the globe. But above anything else, Keith loved and supported the people around him. He would do anything for his friends, family and children. He passionately wanted to see others succeed. And we all loved him for it. Keith’s legacy will continue to live on at HUF. Today, tomorrow and forever. Rest in peace, Keith.

Keith was someone who believed in us from the early days… always down to listen, give his 2 cents and crack a joke behind a mischievous smile. He supported things he believed in, outwardly and many times silently, especially anything NYC related. He let others shine. Thank you for being a hero, mentor, pioneer, skateboarder, friend and role model to us all. Thank you for all you have done for us. We love you ❤️

Can’t thank this man enough for the impact he has left on the world. He fought for his life, family and everything he has created throughout his lifetime. He supported Dylan through his fight with cancer and couldn’t think of a better example of what a true friend could be. Thanks for gracing us with your presence and looking out for all of us over these years. Your strong principles and care for those around you will carry on within us all. Thinking of Marielle, Kennan, coco and the rest of his family. Love you Keith and very sad to see this happen.
